Chmura Economics’ JobsEQ system released preliminary data for 2019Q3 this week and it was an early Christmas present for us economic developers.
The average wage in the Great Falls MSA (Cascade County) grew 5.0% over the four quarters ending September 30th. That’s the 23rd consecutive quarter our metro area has experienced average wage growth. The average wage earnings increased $2,003.
Total wage earnings increased by $77 million over the four quarters ending September 30th, putting more cash into consumers pockets to invest in our local economy.
I’m confident we have kept the growth going in our current quarter and things are looking great for 2020!
Now, it’s time our economic development effort expand to tackle the challenge of our growing our labor pool. We’ll launch our talent attraction efforts in January. Stay tuned!!
According to JobsEQ, we had 1,981 online job ads as of September 30th. At 3.1% unemployment (October), we need more great people!
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and best wishes for a great New Year!!!
