GFDA’s Top 10

Here is our Top 10 for last week celebrating work and successes to grow and strengthen the Great Falls regional economy — Montana’s Golden Triangle. And, sharing business resources and skill-building opportunities to empower your success.

1) We exhibited at the SelectUSA Foreign Direct Investment Summit in Washington DC and networked with hundreds of business leaders from across the world who are interested in expanding into the USA. Thank you Cascade County Commissioner Joe Briggs for joining the GFDA team to exhibit and network. For more information on the summit, contact Justin at 406-590-1301.

2) We made a $30,000 loan to Sunshine Stables in Cut Bank to aid in the expansion of their business. Sunshine Stables is an equestrian facility that includes boarding and riding instruction. We are excited to see the future plans of this business and the needs it will help fill in the community.

3) Construction on the new Gibson Hotel in the heart of downtown Great Falls is booming! In our Announcement of The Week we get a sneak peek at the types of amenities The Gibson Hotel will offer travelers visiting Great Falls and the history behind this downtown structure.

4) Great Falls is now a major center of biodiesel development, as detailed in the Great Falls Tribune story about Sustainable Oils.

5) Graduates of our new Accelerate Your Startup program pitched their business ideas at a great Business Pitch In event last week: Kimberley and Micah Seaburg, KMS Heating; Tyler Osweiler, a residential construction project; Richard Manthey, Havoc Entertainment; John Mack, Adventure Montana; and, Tachie Navarro, 406 Float. Thank you at all the partners and community leaders who listened to the pitches and made helpful suggestions to these great entrepreneurs. Two of these new businesses are already live! Accelerate Your Startup is one of the exciting new programs launched by our Great Falls Region Small Business Development Center. We’re recruiting the next cohort of entrepreneurs. Contact Tony Peres at or 1-406-750-2099.
