Alluvion Health Rocky Mountain Building Groundbreaking

Congratulations to Alluvion Health on the groundbreaking for renovation of the historic Rocky Mountain Building in downtown Great Falls! This is a grand slam win, increasing access to essential community health services, bringing high wage jobs and many patients downtown, helping attract further investment downtown, and saving an important historic structure.

Here is our Top 12 for this week celebrating work and successes to grow and strengthen the Great Falls regional economy — Montana’s Golden Triangle. And, sharing business resources and skill-building opportunities to empower your success.

1) The Montana Department of Commerce awarded a $225,000 Big Sky Trust Fund grant to the Touro University Medical School to help with its launch. Thank you to the City of Great Falls for supporting the application!

2) Montana is the 7th best state to retire, according to WalletHub.

3) Panda Express, Marriott, GK Development were just a few of the dozens of brands and developers we spoke with at the International Council of Shopping Centers event this week in Las Vegas. Jake and Jolene walked 30 miles in the convention center over two days sharing Great Falls primary sector growth highlights and opportunities.

5) The Montana Innovation Partnership is offering a number of trainings and an accelerator program for companies interested in pursuing Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants.

6) In our Announcement of the Week we feature Sustainable Oils, headquartered in Great Falls. Sustainable Oils contracts with growers in the region to produce the Camelina grain used for renewable diesel production. Learn about the cutting edge work the Sustainable Oils R&D team is doing right here in Montana in the Announcement of the Week.

7) Another business opened in Downtown Great Falls! Omerta Cigar Lounge, a private membership-based lounge, opened above Pizazz. It offers Great Falls’ only indoor cigar experience. Visit their website to explore membership options and read more about the project on KRTV. Crumbl Cookies plans to open near Five Guys on 10th Avenue South; see KRTV.

8) We are working with more high priority projects than ever before. We met with a local manufacturing company looking at a major expansion of high wage, primary sector jobs. We are working on several new housing projects, several new downtown businesses, and so much more!

9) Seven airports in our region were among 19 airports statewide that will share in over $13 million in federal grant money from the Department of Transportation. See the Choteau Acantha for a full list of recipients and award amounts.

10) GFDA recently hosted the Montana Department of Agriculture for an onsite audit of our regional Food and Ag Development Center. After the audit, GFDA joined Ag Dept leaders for some site visits of businesses in the region that were awarded Growth Through Ag Grants to help improve their businesses, including Third Day Family Farms, a flower farm, Ag Processing Solutions, an ag processing engineering firm, and Discount Meats. These companies are growing and expanding their value-added ag businesses in the Great Falls region!

11) Participated in the Montana Economic Developers Association spring conference in Anaconda. Participated in another Ukraine economic recovery online brainstorming with Ukrainian economic developers and leaders of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Volunteered time to act as a grader for IEDC’s Entrepreneurship Development Professional (EDP) certification oral exams.

12) We strive to achieve meaningful, long-lasting results that benefit our investors and community.
