Welcome to Montana from Governor Greg Gianforte
Greg Gianforte was elected Montana’s 25th governor on November 3, 2020, receiving more votes than any candidate for governor in state history.
As governor, Greg Gianforte is focused on leading Montana’s comeback, creating greater opportunities for Montanans, and protecting our Montana way of life. He’s dedicated to making Montana more competitive, creating more good-paying jobs, letting Montanans keep more of what they earn, and changing how government does business to better serve Montanans.
After 34 years in the private sector, Gianforte was elected to serve Montana in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2017 and was reelected in 2018.
With a career focused on creating jobs and opportunities, Gianforte founded five startup companies, including RightNow Technologies which he and his wife, Susan, launched two decades ago in their Bozeman home. The company grew into the town’s largest commercial employer with over 500 high-paying Montana jobs.
Before public service, Gianforte worked to improve Montana’s economy through the “Better Montana Jobs” project and launched scholarship programs to help low-income students and veterans pursue the education and training they need.
Married since 1986, Greg and Susan Gianforte raised their children in Bozeman hunting, fishing, rafting, climbing, skiing and backpacking on Montana’s public lands.
Bill Burwell is the Acting Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director for SelectUSA, overseeing the Investment Summit and other events.
Prior to joining SelectUSA, Bill was the Director of the U.S. Export Assistance Center (USEAC) for the State of Maryland. Prior to joining the U.S. Commercial Service, Bill was Senior Manager of Market Research at the Manufacturing Extension Partnership Program at the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
Additionally, Bill has held consulting positions with NASA and the Department of Defense, and he took a break from government service to serve as Vice-President of Business Development at a business-to-business start-up company, providing marketing partnerships, brand management, and strategic alliance development services.
Bill holds an MBA from Clark University and a B.A. in Political Science from Drew University.
