Treasure State Sires hosted a ribbon cutting this week to celebrate the opening of Montana’s first ever boar stud facility. The project was partially funded with a Growth Through Agriculture award assisted by GFDA’s Food Ag Development Center’s Director, receiving the maximum funding amount of $150,000. The state-of-the-art, biosecure facility outside Cascade will house 412 mature boars to yield genetic material for over 100,000 new litters each year.
