    Janicki is an advanced manufacturing company specializing in the design, engineering, and production of large-scale composite structures, tooling, and specialized components for aerospace, defense, transportation, marine, energy, and industrial markets.
  2. Where is Janicki headquartered and how long has the company been in business?
    Janicki is headquartered in Sedro-Woolley, Washington, and has been in business for more than 33 years. Read our story here.
  3. How many locations does Janicki have and where are they?
    Janicki currently operates facilities in Washington and Utah. The Great Falls campus will be the company’s first location in Montana.
  4. Why did Janicki choose Great Falls?
    Great Falls offers a strong workforce, excellent transportation infrastructure, access to higher education and workforce training partners, a supportive business environment, and room for future growth. These factors made Great Falls an ideal location for Janicki’s long-term expansion plans.
  5. Where will the Janicki site be located?
    The Janicki campus will be located in the AgriTech Park, south of 18th Avenue in Great Falls, Montana.
  6. When does construction begin and when will the facility open?
    Construction is expected to begin in July of 2026. Additional details regarding the construction schedule and facility opening timeline will be announced as the project progresses.
  7. When will Janicki establish a presence in Great Falls?
    Janicki plans to open offices in Great Falls in July 2026 to accommodate the construction and design teams, as well as some other miscellaneous staff.
  8. When will the groundbreaking ceremony be held?
    Janicki is working with the Great Falls Development Alliance (GFDA) and is planning a groundbreaking ceremony on July 10, 2026.
  9. What are the planned hours of operation? Will the facility run multiple shifts?
    Operational schedules are still being finalized. As the campus grows, Janicki anticipates operating multiple shifts to support production requirements and customer demand.
  10. How many people will Janicki hire once the facility is operational?
    As operations begin in the first building, Janicki anticipates hiring roughly 200 people and ramping up from there.
  11. What types of jobs will be available?
    The facility is expected to offer a variety of positions, including skilled trades, manufacturing and production roles, engineering, quality assurance, maintenance, logistics, administrative support, and other professional positions.
  12. Will hiring prioritize local Great Falls residents?
    Janicki is committed to building a strong local workforce and will focus on recruiting and hiring candidates from Great Falls and the surrounding region as much as possible.
  13. Will Janicki hire people without prior manufacturing experience?
    Yes. While some positions may require specific skills or experience, Janicki expects to offer opportunities for individuals who are new to manufacturing and demonstrate the ability to learn and grow within the organization.
  14. Will there be apprenticeship or on-the-job training programs?
    Janicki anticipates developing training opportunities and workforce development partnerships to support employee growth and long-term career development.
  15. Will local workers be hired during construction?
    Janicki utilizes a General Contractor and architecture firm that have worked with the company for many years; however, Janicki anticipates the contractor to work with local contractors throughout all phases of construction and will be focused on hiring locally whenever possible.

    Hiring timelines and job postings will be announced as the project progresses. Interested candidates are encouraged to monitor Janicki’s careers page and social medial accounts (LinkedIn, Facebook, and X) for updates and announcements regarding employment opportunities in Great Falls.
  17. Will Janicki recruit at local universities and colleges?
    Yes. Janicki intends to collaborate with Montana State University (MSU), MSU Northern, and Montana Technological University (Montana Tech) through career fairs, advisory boards, internships, and workforce development programs.
  18. Will Janicki recruit at Malmstrom Air Force Base?
    Janicki plans to engage with military personnel and veterans through workforce outreach initiatives, including opportunities to connect with service members transitioning from military careers as well as to accommodate spouses of service members assigned to the base.
  19. Has an environmental study been completed for the site?
    Janicki meets or exceeds all applicable state and federal environmental requirements. Environmental reviews and permitting activities are conducted as required throughout project development.
  20. What is Janicki’s environmental compliance record?
    Janicki has maintained a strong environmental compliance record with no significant issues related to stormwater management, air quality, or hazardous waste in the last 15 years.
  21. What is the projected power usage for the campus?
    At full campus completion, Janicki anticipates power consumption of approximately 3.1 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year.
  22. What is the projected water usage for the campus?
    At full campus completion, Janicki anticipates water usage of approximately 5.2 million gallons per year. Water consumption is primarily domestic in nature, including sinks, restrooms, and employee facilities, as the manufacturing processes do not require significant water use.
  23. Will hazardous materials be used or waste generated at the facility?
    Yes. Manufacturing operations utilize materials such as solvents, resins, paints, and adhesives. These processes generate waste products that are carefully managed, monitored, and disposed of in accordance with all Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and applicable environmental standards.
  24. How will hazardous waste be handled and disposed of?
    Janicki’s Environmental Team will identify and partner with a qualified hazardous waste disposal provider within Montana. All hazardous waste handling, transportation, disposal, monitoring, and reporting activities will comply with federal, state, and local regulations. Janicki has extensive experience operating under Washington State’s stringent environmental regulations and has consistently met or exceeded all compliance requirements. Janicki maintains tight control from cradle to grave on materials it uses or stores on site.
  25. Will there be noise, odor, or traffic impacts on surrounding neighborhoods?
    Janicki is committed to being a good community partner and will comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations related to noise, emissions, and transportation. Site design and operational planning will seek to minimize impacts on surrounding areas.
  26. How can community members stay informed about construction progress and hiring announcements?
    Project updates, hiring announcements, and major milestones will be shared through Janicki communications, the Great Falls Development Alliance (GFDA), local media outlets, Janicki’s careers page and social medial accounts (LinkedIn, Facebook, and X).
  27. Will there be a public open house before the facility opens?
    Janicki is evaluating opportunities for community engagement, including the possibility of hosting public open houses or facility tours as the project progresses.
